The International has managed the program for over 30 years and has accomplished much of its research, training, and educational growth. There has been quite a bit of success at “leading the program”, and the institute has in their own way taken part in the construction of two facilities for its new facilities in Cleveland and Indianapolis. The first of the series of facilities available for infrastructure was shared with the State of California-based Business 2 Technologies. The Indiana Institute of Natural Sciences in 1987 hosted one of the national symposia associated with the Indiana Science Writers Association international conference on the current research environment for scientists (since 1989, specifically, its symposium was organized by the Indiana State Board of Agencies in the 1980s, and each meeting drew an estimated 50,000 participants; on that same meeting the Indiana State Science Writers Association International Conference on Science in 1999 was held in West Los Angeles, Michigan; and more recently, the Indiana Science Writers Association International Conference in Chicago in 2015 was held in Los Angeles. The Indiana State Science Writers Association International Conference is a conference for scientific research covering more than six decades of research on science and technology, and a social project-based conference with many innovative approaches.
