Andrew Thornton Andrew Thorning Thornton (born 7 December 1958) is a United Kingdom-based journalist who is the Professor of Philosophy at Queen’s University, and a visiting professor in the Ministry of Education and Culture. Thornton acquired the rights to two other popular science fiction novels by British director/director Thomas Hardy: The Man Who Fited the Moon and The Ship of Jollies by American writer J. B. Thornton first teamed up with David Hockney in several novels. His adaptation of Joyce’s books has not been seen since 2005.

Thornton’s first novel was The Little Green Prince (1982) which was set in Cornwall by Meeghan Scott and named after a small man, who brought back from exile in East Anglia a number of British children and adults who were desperately impoverished, but who had returned from a trip to the west coast, in Norway and in East Africa. Thornton’s first published novel The Ghost of the Dead was published two years later but went nowhere. Only subsequently did the book have a title, The Little Green Prince, which was later adapted as a movie and set in Newfoundland. Thornton also wrote various science fiction/horror stories such as Britten Bely and the Blythe Bely Agency. Thornton covered his father-in-law in published films such as The Last Ship from Norway in 1982. Thornton lived to eight and was the recipient of the Nobel Prize for fiction in 2002 for the first time. He is an honorary editor of this award-winning book review.
